A major installation projected carried out by Eurocoms this year for a major online retailer. The solution included over 120 access points, 17 data cabinets, all structured cabling, fibre optic backbones and commissioning.

A wireless network is a type of network that uses radio waves to transmit data between devices, such as computers, smartphones, hand-held scanners and servers, without the need for physical cables. WIFI networks rely on technologies to provide connectivity over varying distances. Wireless networks allow users to access the internet, share resources, and communicate with other devices wirelessly, offering flexibility and mobility.
To understand how wireless networks work, it’s important to familiarise yourself with a few key concepts:
Radio Waves: These are the backbone of wireless communication, enabling data transmission through the air without physical cables.
Bandwidth: This is the network’s capacity to handle data traffic. A higher bandwidth allows more data to be transmitted simultaneously, improving overall performance.
Network Range: This refers to the distance your wireless signal can travel effectively. The range depends on factors such as the equipment used and the surrounding environment.

WIFI surveys produce heat-maps that are used to provide a visual overlay of your network performance on your floor plans. The report shows where signal strength is strong or weak, highlight interference from overlapping channels or external sources and shows where packet loss or slow throughput could affect users.

Heatmaps also make it easy to see how devices roam between access points, which is essential for mobile users, hand-held scanners in warehouse, retail and factories, and wireless telephone systems and some security devices.

With the information gathered from the survey, we can then recommend the most effective placement and configuration of access points to deliver reliable coverage, capacity, and performance across your site. Our installation engineers are fully accredited and certified to carry out the installation of all cabling; data, fibre, cabinets, active equipment.

Eurocoms supply, install, terminate and test a full range of structured cabling systems, each offering manufacturer backed 25 year minimum warranty.
Our solutions include CAT6, CAT6A and CAT7 structured cabling to support your wireless network solution.

Have a large network and concerned about cable run lengths? One of the issues we encounter on a weekly basis is the cable not being able to support 1GB connections due to cable length. A solution to this is to add a local hub cabinet and link via fibre. Eurocoms supply, install and terminated multi-mode and single mode fibre cable.

Eurocoms are able to supply all the relevant network hardware to implement your wireless network. Access points, switches, cabinets can all be included in our proposal.
We work with all the market leading manufacturers such as; Aruba, Cambian, Cisco, Meraki, Unifi, Ruckus to name a few.
We are then able to offer after sales support and maintenance.
